Sad day
Monotonous day
Fading like dreams
From many years ago

If life had no meaning
There would be no empathy
No shared pain
No doubled joy


If life had no meaning
A life would be a clock
Always ticking steadily until
the batteries run out

If life had no meaning
Everyone would be working
And striving
For a material end

If life had no meaning
Friends would come
After power
After Money


People strive for a steady career
For a few more dollars
And as if
Life is not to be treasured


Does life have no meaning?
or is it human nature to find a regularity when it isn't needed?
