Feeling human

	So last week was my birthday. It was amazing.

It was actually sort of unbelievable how happy I was. The way I felt when I was depressed in high school at the worst time? This was the polar opposite. When I was depressed, I didn't feel human. I felt isolated, robotic, incapable of feeling love.

Last weekend, I was surrounded by only positive energy, by people who care about my existence. There was so much effort put into making me feel valued. I was overwhelmed with a feeling of connection and value. And even those who couldn't be there physically expressed via messages how much they cared. It was the happiest I've been in a while and I was genuinely excited to exist.

I think when people came up with the idea behind celebrating birthdays, this is what they were intending.
